This is something that has intrigued me since my first trip to europe when I was around 7. As I was young I don't quite remember much, but I do remember is going to numerous art galleries and seeing these beautiful paintings, interpretations of religious figures. The richness of the gold leaf and the deep shades of red and orange is oh so wonderful.
